Project

The Hungarian expressway network is one of the most important elements of the country's transportation system. The development of highways is continuously taking place to make transportation in the country and international transit traffic faster and more efficient. The expansion of the M1 highway is one of Hungary's most significant transportation infrastructure developments, aimed at increasing current capacity and safety. During the works, the highway will be expanded in several phases between the M0 and the Concó rest area (Bábolna) to three lanes in each direction and will be supplemented on each side with an intelligent resting lane (so-called ITS).

Modern junctions

During the expansion, we will modernize 11 existing junctions and convert 7 level subjunctions into roundabouts.

Modern rest areas

During the development, we will completely reconstruct 6 complex rest areas and modernize the others. The rest areas will be made family-friendly, so that traveling can be an experience for everyone.

Renewable engineering services

Highway management is an extremely complex task involving numerous tools, vehicles, and people. Our engineering offices in Bicske and Komárom will be completely renewed and expanded so our colleagues can carry out their daily tasks in a renovated environment.

ITS lanes

We are implementing ITS (Intelligent Transport System) technology that has not been used in Hungary to this length and technical content before. We are expanding the road with smart hard shoulders, which can be digitally opened for traffic as a full-value traffic lane in various traffic situations - congestion, accidents, and works.

Emergency bay

Emergency bays have been established every 2-3 kilometers, so in the event of a technical or any other problem, the traffic lanes can be exited as quickly as possible, and we can safely wait for assistance. In addition to the bays, a truck recovery service is on standby 24 hours a day in our affected engineering offices to free up the road as quickly as possible in case of a technical failure or accident.

Traffic restrictions

Speed and traffic restrictions are expected at the diversions, so please drive carefully and pay attention to our colleagues working there!
